... Cousins, Beach Walks and The Funfair ...

Last Thursday Kelly and the girls came to stay.
It was a bit of a spur of the moment plan and it was lovely having them all here.

Esme slept in the twins room, as the twins share a bed normally so Esme got a whole bed to herself, Kelly took Ru's bed as that's usually empty and Isla shared with Noah on the first night then the next two nights shared with her mum in Ru's room.

Our table was full and it was nice to see all the kids happy and together.

Friday.

We headed out early to soft play getting there for when it opened in a bid to miss the mad rush but thankfully it wasn't too busy and the kids had two hours of running around like crazy loons.
Afterwards, I tried to get a nice photo for my mum of all the kids together but as you can tell from the picture about they really weren't feeling it!

After lunch, we decided to walk to North beach and let the kids run around and have an ice cream.

I bought them some bucket and spades after the ice creams and they all ran off to build sandcastles, the tide was out so they had plenty of space to run around on and try and build a sandcastle village.
Ru gave up pretty quickly but then ordered me to build him a sandcastle rainbow...

As the weather was nice and we had no real rush to get home we decided to attempt to walk along the beach to Hunstanton.

I had told Kelly it would only take 10 minutes....even though I had never done it before.
Thinking about it now, it takes 10 minutes in the car so I should have known it would have taken longer.

...... It took about an hour or so.

The kids were actually really good and hardly moaned at all!
Esme, Isla and Noah ran along the sand collecting shells and bits and bobs as they went, Ru was in the stroller and I knew he wouldn't walk from our house to the local beach let alone all the way to Hunstanton, and the twins both walked beside me looking at all the lovely holiday houses along the seafront.

They were all really impressed that they'd walked to Hunstanton and can't wait to go back to school and tell their teachers!

As a treat for the kids being so good, we took them into the funfair, we all went on the caterpillar roller coaster and everyone enjoyed it, though Ru is still a little unsure if he liked it or not.

His favourite was the car merry go round and he went on those a couple of times.
Everyone apart from me and Ru went on the bumper cars ..... turns out Noah's a bit of a dangerous driver!

Before we left Isla and Noah went on the twister and from the ground, it looked as though Noah was going to cry but apparently he loved it.

Saturday.

We spent the morning lazing around at home, letting the kids do as they pleased.
After lunch, we took them back over to Norfolk Lavander and went into the Animal Gardens and Play Park, hoping they would get the rest of their energy out there.

On entry, they were all given a little quiz and a sheet to use in the maze to collect stamps so that they'd win a goodie bag on the way home.

They all ran around looking at all the animals and trying to find the answers to the questions, we let them loose into the maze by themselves.... to which I'm pretty sure they all cheated as it didn't take them long to find all the stamps and they all came back out the way they went in.

Their best bit was getting to handle some of the animals, the boys all loved holding the snakes and Noah made friends with a bearded dragon.
Ru loved the Tenrec as he had a wet nose that wriggled around!
I tried to get a good photo but it was just too wriggly.

After they had finished looking at all the animals they went and played in the play park.

The girls and Kelly headed back to London on Sunday morning.
It was lovely having them here and the house felt rather empty once they'd left.
It was really nice having a few busy days and we all felt better for it.
We are all missing them now and Rupert keeps asking when they are coming back.

... Hunstanton Lighthouse ...

On Sunday we decided to pop into Hunstanton for a family Costa Coffee trip, something that doesn't happen often as usually its only me and Jon who going into Costa but seeing as we had nothing planned it sounded like a good way to spend the morning.

The boys were brilliant and they all enjoyed a chocolate baby chino and were very nicely given a flake and a marshmallow!
Which I think made their day.
Jon and I enjoyed our normal coffees and it was nice to be out spending some time with the boys away from the house.

As it was such a beautiful day we decided we would go and see the lighthouse.
We've only ever driven past it before so it was nice to get out and stretch out legs and let the boys run riot which I got some snaps!

The boys all played chase and whilst running after Ru we met a lovely couple with some gorgeous dogs that we all made friends with.

After a while the boys all started to complain their hands were cold so we headed back to the van and drove home to warm up and watch Cars 3.

It was actually one of the best Sunday's we've had in a long while and it didn't cost more than £10.
The boys all had fun, and it was nice to just get out and about rather than spending another Sunday moaning about being bored and not having anything fun to do.

Both Jon and I decided we needed to make a thing of Sundays and just getting out in the morning to somewhere local like our beach or to Hunstanton is something we really need to start doing as we all benefit from it and then Sunday afternoons are really easy going!

Big Ben, Back To School and Sleepy Lotion.

The start of last week I headed up to St Thomas with Jon.
His back has been playing him up and he told to turn his device off as it seemed to be giving him some side effects.
5 days without it on he was still having the shakes and feeling tired.

His doctors have told him it doesn't seem to be the device thats doing so their must be an underlying issue.
He's now booked into have an emergency EEG.

Whilst waiting for our train back to Kings Lynn we grabbed some lunch from Wabi's.
We've been together 7 years and this was our first sushi date.
He's still begging me to take him to Yo Sushi.

Tuesday was Rupert's last day at his old nursery and he came home and did his biggest line up yet.
He's not fond of goodbyes and I think this was his was with coping.
He didn't allow me to get rid of it and all the boys had to eat their breakfast around it on Wednesday morning.

All four boys starts back at school on Wednesday.
Noah headed off into Year 5, the Twins started their Year 1 adventure and Ru started the schools nursery.
We had no tears or tantrums, everyone was really excited about going back to school.
Even Ru went in without any fuss.

To celebrate everyone being back in school Jon and I popped over to Costa Coffee and had a coffee in peace and quite with out the usual I want that I need that oh Im bored now.
It was bliss.

After Costa we popped into Tesco and I got some flowers for the house, when I do a massive clean I always like some flowers to finish it off.
The rest of Wednesday was spent getting the house back in order.

I was half expecting Thursday to be full of tears and them telling me they didn't want to go back to school, but no they were just as happy as they were on Wednesday.

I popped into Hunstanton after drop off as we had library books to put back in and I had a book to collect.

The librarian was very excited when she handed me over the book as its one of her favourites.
I've heard good things about it and I'm getting really stuck into it.

Thursday I also put this Sleepy Lotion from Lush to the test, the internet is going crazy for it at the moment and I was really hoping it would be the magic I was looking for.....

But no!
No such luck for this sleep avoider.
He did smell lovely though, like a strange smelling biscuit.
I'll keep using it on all of the boys and myself as you really can't beat Lush lotion for making your skin silky smooth.

Friday I began to feel a bit lost without everyone around, so I decided to fill my time baking a cake.
The last few bakes I've done really didn't turn out so well, so it was nice to see this looking like it should have and It tasted amazing.

Salted Caramel Cake.

Spa Visits, Sleep Diary and Star Wars Auditions...

Last week was a good week, my bestie came to stay for the week.

Rupert started the week out by turning into a bit of a naked gardener and we started his sleep diary.
I also managed to send back the questionnaires we were sent.
So hopefully by the time we are seen again this sleep diary will be full and they'll see how bad he is when it comes to bedtime.

I also started a bit of a health kick and put my love affair with coffee on the sidewalk and turned back to Green Tea.
I really want to start feeling better about myself and I can slowly see Im heading to where I really want to be.
I know I'm never going to have my pre twins / Rupert body back as being just under 8stone is a tad unrealistic these days, but to not feel so flabby would be fab!

Rupert made friends with another butterfly.
He found it laying in the grass and gently picked it up and then played with it for about half an hour.
Once the butterfly was done being friendly it flew off.

On Monday Jenny arrived and we spent the morning with the boys and then just before lunch we headed off for a girlie afternoon in the Spa.
Jenny had booked it as a surprise to help cheer me up.

Before we went to the spa we headed off to Sainsbury's to see if I could pick up a new costume, as I had bought one from asos but when I tried it on, I could have cried.
Unfortunately there were no costumes in Sainsbury's so we just ended up getting some lunch and then headed off to the spa.

Pre Spa Lunch.

Once at the spa we changed into our costumes and put on our robes and headed into the waiting room to pick our treatments.
I was wanting to get the raindrop massage but it turned out because I'd had my op only recently I wasn't allowed to have a full massage.

My options were a facial and a manicure or a manicure and a pedicure.
I was more than a little disappointed as I've never been keen on the idea of a facial as I hate anyone touching my face but then I decided if I wanted a little pampering I was going to have to give it ago.
So I decided to try a mini facial and have a manicure.

Before our treatments we hung out in the thermal spa and relaxation room.
We had our treatments in a double room which was nice and to my surprise I actually really enjoyed my facial!
I would definitely have another one!

After the spa we headed out to dinner and it was alright but nothing really special.

After moaning to my mum about how I was getting really upset about seeing everyone's pregnancy announcements and all their gorgeous new babies and thinking that was meant to be me.
(I obviously am really happy for everyone whose expecting but at times it feels like a knife in the heart every time I see a post)
My mum decided to treat me to some new boots.
Her words - 'She can't give me a baby but she can give me new boots!'

They did pick me up and I felt happy walking around in them.
So thanks mum :)

Rupert went off to nursery dressed up as all the leavers were having a Disney dress up week, he wasn't really keen on going but as soon as I told him he could dress up and that Jenny and myself were going to take him he instantly decided that he would go.

While he was at nursery we took the rest of the boys off to Hunstanton to have a go at pirate crazy golf.
We split into two teams, Jenny, Jon and Alex and Myself, Oscar and Noah.
I'm not sure which team won but it was a great way to spend the morning.

Afterwards we headed up to Hunstanton Ice Cream factory and all had an ice cream.

In the evening we had a bit of a games and ice cream night.
We played Trivial Pursuit the 2000s edition and I was all set to lose because Jon usually wins these sorts of games but surprisingly I won!
Which Jon was not too pleased about.

Wednesday

Noah had his first ever audition for something Star Wars related.
He's always liked the idea of going on an audition ever since the twins had one and after seeing his cousin Isla on a few TV adverts.

He's really shy and Ive never really thought it would be something he'd want to do, but when I asked he jumped at the chance and said yes!

I told him to just be himself and not get nervous when he saw the camera.

He did really well, he was only slightly shy and did everything he was asked to do.
He probably won't get the part but he said he really enjoyed himself and would do another audition if he got the chance.

So to treat him we headed into Norwich to find somewhere to eat.
We found Noah's favourite place - Yo Sushi and headed inside to grab some food.

Noah was like a little meerkat peering over at the belt and seeing what he could see.
Every time he got a new plate he did a happy dance.

It was quite nice to just spend time with Noah.
When Noah was little Jenny and I were always taking him on day trips, so it felt just like that.
I really need to make sure I have little outings with just Noah as I'm sure he probably feels a bit left out, specially as Ru takes up a lot of my time.

We all filled our tums and then headed back to the car.

My favourite - Avocado Maki Rolls.

We thought it would be fun to try and get home without the SatNav....we only got a little lost.
It should have taken an hour but it took nearly two.

The boys uniform all turned up and for Ru I decided to try him on some leggings which I got from the girls section.
I know he won't wear joggers to nursery as he needs trousers to be super tight or he doesn't like the feel so I was pleasantly surprised that he really took to them and has been wearing them ever since!
They're tight and soft, just perfect for him.

I'll have to buy him some more for when the weather starts to turn cold.
I've seen lots of cool ones on Zara and I'm also going to buy him some more Slug & Snails tights as he still tries to fit into his old ones.

The boys pretending to be at a farm on our hay delivery.

Jenny went home on Thursday and we were meant to be heading to my parents on the Friday but because of Jon's back still playing up we were unable to do the journey so to keep the boys happy we headed to Jon's parents to let them play in the pool.
