Real Workin’ Buddies Mr. Dusty is a fun way for kids to learn to clean up their toys!
Dusty can eat it up, sweep it up, and dump it out!
Dusty has a motorised mouth to eat up bigger toys, plus lights and sounds too!
Dusty the Super Duper Garbage Truck has a fun personality with over 50 phrases and works on both carpet and hardwood floors!

Features

  • 3 ways to play! Sweep It Up! Eat It Up! Dump It Out!
  • More than 50 phrases
  • Works on carpet and hardwood floors!
  • Fun sound effects!
  • Makes cleaning fun
  • Motorised mouth!
  • Working Light!
  • Batteries Required: 4 x AA (Included)

When I heard about a toy that tidied up I was more than excited about trying it out.
The boys love playing but are a little resistant when I suggest tidying up after themselves, so I was rather keen to seen if Dusty would be my secret weapon to combating this!

The boys were all very impressed with Dusty and were keen to play with him, when I threw down a pile of Lego they looked at me like I was going crazy.
When I told them to drive over the Lego bricks they really thought I had lost it.
After staring at me for a while and trying to decide if I needed to be taken away by the men in the white coats they decided to do as I said and drove Dusty with cheeky smiles over all the bricks...

Their faces were priceless,
They couldn't believe he actually ate it all up!

All the boys liked Dusty but Rupert was the one who really took to him and claimed him as his own.

Rupert can spend ages making a mess and then cleaning it back up again.
He loves munching up the bricks and then dumping them out again and he finds it hilarious when Dusty burps.

Dusty would be a super present to find under the Christmas Tree!

Monster Smash-Ups Raptor Remote Control Truck!

race, smash, eject and rebuild these rechargeable, high speed radio control monster trucks.
When crashed, the front bumper activates the ejector seat, sending the driver flying across the room! The realistic monster truck suspension makes these trucks incredibly fun to tilt-turn, race and swerve.

The twins are really into remote control cars at the moment, but I'm always running around after them telling them to be careful they don't crash as the car will break, with this monster truck I don't actually have to do that!
Mum win!!

They can crash the truck to their hearts content!

Features
  • Monster smash ups: Race, smash, eject and rebuild with a monster smash ups RC trucks
  • Ejector seat and re-buildable: Crash your truck and watch your driver get ejected; quick rebuild and back to action
  • Radio controlled: 2.4 GHz radio controller with 20 m range, allowing multiple players to battle at the same time
  • Tilt-turn movement: Realistic, exciting, tilt turn suspension combined with high speed capability
  • Rechargeable: Includes rechargeable battery with 20 minutes run time and also customisable stickers, cones and flags;
  • requires 2 x AA batteries (not included) for remote control
  • Ages 3 and up.

The truck is nice and easy to assemble which means the twins can quite happily do it themselves without my intervention, which is always a bonus.
As otherwise I'd be constantly being asked to re-build it, as they crash it A LOT!

They always giggle with delight when their little raptor dude gets flown out of the truck and across the room.
They have a little competition going to see who can get him to fly the furthest.
I'm not 100% sure whose winning, but I have a feeling its Oscar.

I like the fact it has a rechargeable battery as we have a lot of toys that eat batteries and they are always so expensive to keep buying so another mum win!
The boys all find the controls easy to use even Rupert can get the car to drive around the kitchen without a helping hand!

These monster trucks come in 3 designs
Raptor, Rhino and Viper!

They'd make awesome Christmas presents!
Available from Argos for £34.99

The build process

Noah thought there was going to be more complicated pieces involved in building this roller coaster so was pleasantly surprised by finding just a load of sticks and cogs.

We first took time sorting all the pieces into piles, so when it came to the actual build we were a bit more organised.

We decided we would do it as a team, which was nice as Noah and myself rarely get a spare 5 minutes to ourselves and usually thats when I pick him up from his after school clubs as I'm on my own.

We spent a good two hours doing this, we even had to get daddy in to help, as we couldn't quite get the last few bits of track to work, and after realising we'd put a number 1 curve bit in the wrong place, it all easily got sorted.

The Instructions.

Whilst we were building the roller coaster Noah had the coaster car on charge, so that it was ready to zoom around once we were done.

We were all pretty impressed with how fast the coaster car went.
I was half expecting it to slowly find it's way around the track, but it went so fast that we all struggled to try and catch it when we wanted to turn it off!

After we knew it worked and none of the track was pinging off, we switched off the lights and all watched it glow in the dark.

Noah was very proud of the final build and couldn't wait to show it off to the others.
They all giggled with delight when the coaster car zoomed round and round and up and down.

The Roller coaster is built so that you can either have it standing tall or standing on its side.
Both ways work fantastically.

For additional builds you get a special code that you can enter on the K'nex website!

This would make a fantastic Christmas present!
Something for both little and big people to all enjoy!

Transformers The Last Knight 1:10 Jumbo RC Bumblebee

Bumblebee is Optimus Primes most trusted ally.
Now it's up to you and Bumblebee to save the world from the evil Decepticons.
This 2 channel radio controlled jumbo size Bumblebee has full movement and is 40cm in length.
It is a perfect replica from Transformers: The Last Knight.

The boys are all a little bit obsessed with Transformers and when I heard about this awesome Jumbo RC Bumblebee from Simba Smoby Toys I knew they would love it.
With a challenge attached to reviewing it, I knew they would be up for it.

As soon as Noah saw the car he was trying to think of all different sorts of tracks for it to do.

In the end we took full advantage of our large kitchen.
We placed a few obstacles in its way and a track that went all the way round bypassing different things on its way and one we hadn't planned on ..... Little Link the terrifying tiny tiger trying to attack Bumblebee on his way round.

Noah and I both had a few goes at seeing who could do it the fastest and I was winning until Jon came and joined in the fun and out did us both.

The car is made well and no amount of crashing into the wall has ruined its shell .... yet.
The controls are nice and easy to use, even Rupert can operate it.
It does whoever need an awful lot of batteries, so if buying this for a Christmas present I highly recommend you make sure you have a big supply of batteries handy.
The car needs 6 and the control needs and extra 2.

Noah on one of his missions!

Bumblebee is available only from Argos for £29.99

Thomas & Friends™ Super Station

The ultimate Thomas & Friends track set yet, the Thomas & Friends™ Super Station.
Compatible with all your favourite Thomas & Friends engines, TrackMaster, Adventures, MINIS and wood, and with room for storing over 100 engines, little one’s imaginations will soar to the Island of Sodor!

For those of you who follow the blog you'll know how much Ru enjoys all sorts of vehicle toys, his love for his cars is strong but a close second is playing with his Thomas & Friends railway tracks.

He adores watching the trains go round and round - something that I put down to his sensory traits.
Often when he's had a hard day / week the one thing I know that will instantly help is building up a track and letting him slip away into a little Thomas trance.

Watching the trains go round instantly takes his focus and makes him smile!

All the parts
MINIS, Adventures, Track Master and Wooden Railways track toys.

So when I was asked if we wanted to review the brand new Super Station I jumped at the chance and responded with a yes straight away.

Ru had seen the advert for it on the television and pointed it out to me, something that he rarely does.
So I knew he would love it.

I really wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is, as sometimes toy size can be a little misleading but the Super Station is true to form and it is pretty massive.

It was so big that I had to move it from the lounge half built to the kitchen as I knew it was going to take up far too much room in the lounge.

Something that you can see for yourself in the pictures.

 Key Features;

Compatible with TrackMaster, Adventures, MINIS and Wood engines
  • Room for over 100 engines
  • 10 metres of track
  • Features iconic locations including Tidmouth Sheds, Brendam Docks, Knapford Station, the Sodor Steamworks, the Dieselworks and Blue Mountain Quarry
  • Use the adapter pieces to connect to other playsets to create an even bigger playset for hours of fun
  • Suitable from 3 years+
  • RRP: £129.99

Ru was keen to get playing as soon as I started building and he wouldn't leave me alone until I had placed some batteries inside the TrackMaster Thomas engine.
So whilst I built the track he let Thomas ride around the parts I had built whilst eagerly telling me to hurry up.

After deciding which track we were going to build first it took me around 20 minutes to build it.
As well as building the track correctly, I took my time making sure the stickers which were supplied along with the instructions were stuck nicely and in all the right places.

Once it was done, even I was impressed by it's size.
Ru was so impressed that he took his time walking around and looking at it taking it all in and whispering 'wow' to himself.

Ru loves that the track is the perfect height for him.
He can either sit down to play with the track on the floor or stand up to play with the train shed track and Cranky.

He gets so involved in play that I can actually get stuff done around the house with out him noticing.

I even managed to go to the shops on my own whilst I left him with Jon (something that I can rarely get away with) as he was just so immersed in watching Thomas go round & round and up & down that he hadn't notice me pop my shoes on and head for the door.

I love how you can store all the different trains on the track, as I'm always finding Ru's MINIs dotted around the house, so its nice that we now have a cool place to store them.
At least now we have all his trains in the one place and I don't have to spend ages searching all the toy boxes for them.

Unfortunately for me the Super Station won't actually fit in Ru's room so it will have to live in the kitchen until Ru allows me to take it down.

Though saying that, I have found myself enjoying making up all the different tracks whilst Ru is asleep to surprise him with in the morning.
It's becoming rather addictive in a way and I have been doing it every night this week!

Rupert really adores the Super Station, the twins enjoy a sneaky play and even Noah likes to get involved when Ru isn't looking and as I just said I can't help but enjoy building new set ups!

A definite win for all the Mini Beast crew.

This is definitely one of the top toys for this Christmas and if I hadn't been extremely lucky enough to  be offered the opportunity to review it, it would have been on the top of our Christmas list.

xx

~ Junior Rubik's Puzzle Review and Giveaway ~

I have always enjoyed having a go on a Rubik's cube.... have I ever completed one?
No, but it is a life long mission of mine than has now been passed down on to the boys.
We have an old cube in the house that I've had since I was a child and I'm sure it has had some stickers removed and added on top of others in a bid to try and out smart it, but yet no one has actually managed to complete it yet!

So when I was contacted about become a Rubik's blogger I was more than keen to sign up .....  maybe this would be my chance at finally figuring out the secret to getting all those little squares matched up.

John Adams have a huge range of Rubik's toys, which when I looked actually  blew my mind at the vast range as I wasn't aware at how many there were, so I was eagerly excited about seeing which Rubik's toys turned up on the doorstep.

In our first package were these very cute Rubik's Junior animal puzzles which are suitable for children ages 4 and up.

There are four designs to collect;
Puppy, Kitten, Bunny and Bear.
RRP £9.99 available from Argos.

The twins picked the dog and bear puzzles to try their hand at ....

I adore the design, cute and sweet. Perfect for little hands!
Just perfect for little problem solvers!

They always get so frustrated at trying to do the original cube, so it was nice to hand them something that I knew they would be able to do.

As soon as they were unboxed they couldn't wait to juggle the colours around and race each other to see who could get it back to normal first.

The Rubik’s Junior puzzle is the ideal puzzle for little problem solvers.
The cute twistable character is so easy to grip and turn.
Twist the blocks to create a crazy mixed-up animal, but with relatively few combinations. It is easy to solve whist keeping your child entertained.

It took them a few tries but it didn't take them long to solve it.
They then decided to mix up each others and then see if they could solve it.

The puzzles are great for kids as they aren't as tricky as the original and they don't take too long to solve, which helps kids stay focus and not give up to easily.

The twins didn't struggle solving them, but they did have to think about how the colours and shapes went together, so it was nice to see their thinking faces!
I'm sure Alex even stuck out his tongue at one point.

The guys over at John Adams have give me one Kitten puzzle & one Bunny puzzle to giveaway to two lucky readers...

If you fancy winning one of these awesome little puzzles for very own little problem solver just enter the rafflecopter below.
They'll make fantastic stocking filler presents!

Rise Of Scar Playset

Disney Junior's The Lion Guard, Kion, the brave leader of the Guard, and his team are put to the test when they face the evil villain Scar!
Join Kion as he challenges Scar in the action-packed Rise of Scar Playset.

Key Features;

  • Playset features fun lights and sounds
  • Includes one exclusive Kion figure
  • Play flames light up and pop out and the head rises!
  • So many fun features including a snake attack, a collapsing bridge, a lava ball launcher, a battering ram, and more!
  • Batteries included

The boys all really enjoy watching The Lion Guard on Disney Junior so when this Rise Of Scar Playset from flairplc arrived they all went rather crazy.

The Lion Guard Follows on from the incredible story of Simba in the Lion King, this new hit series recounts the efforts of Kion, the son and youngest child of Simba and Nala.
Follow him as he tries to assemble a team of animals to protect the Pride lands.

I originally agreed to review it for Ru but the twins and even Noah enjoy playing with it and I often find them playing with this rather than on the tablet or DS.

Ru can easily be kept entertained playing with this with his Cars and Kion for anything from 10 minutes to half an hour. Which for him is a long time.

With Kion's movable legs its easy to switch him from a sitting pose to jumping pose in a flash and move his head around like he's really taking in the all the dangers around him.
Ru often stretched out his front and back legs like he was jumping around just like our new kitten Link.

Getting Kion to cross the bridge and then making it collapse always made them roar with laughter.
Ru's favourite feature was the Lava Ball.
He really enjoyed trying to get it fly all over the kitchen.

Scars head pops up slowly when you press his nose and as his rises his eyes light up and the flames pop out. After his is risen you can press his nose to make different noises, such as lion roars or monkeys chattering.

Ru really loved making Kion get up to all sorts of adventures... getting stuck in the vine jail and falling into the crocodile pit.
To think of it I don't think poor Kion had a good ending in any of Ru's adventures.

The boys did play nicely together but I think this toy would be even better if it came with an extra play figure.
We also had a slight problem with our batteries, but once I had switched them around the playlet worked fine.

This playset is perfect to act out scenes from the cartoon or let your imagination run wild and play like Ru does.

This would make a brilliant Christmas present (I know I mentioned the C word and it's only September...sorry) or even a birthday present for any Lion Guard fan.

Another big thumbs up from the 3 little Mini Beasts!
