...Count Down To Christmas with the Sockvent Calendar...

Over the years I  have seen the choice in different Advent Calendars explode, you can now get your hands on all sort of toy Advent Calendars for your little ones to cheese Advent Calendars for those cheese addicted family members.

Until the other day, I was unaware you could even get your hands on a sock Advent Calendar!
Sock Shop UK contacted me and asked if they could send me one of their Wild Feet Advent calendars.

I haven't had an Advent Calendar for years so I was more than eager to accept their offer.
25 days of brand new socks!
Hard to say no really.

This huge 43cm x 31cm advent-style gift box is chock-full of ladies socks in seasonal and year-round designs, ranging from Kawaii-style Christmas trees to the angelic pugs shown on the lid of this set.
25 totally different designs to be discovered, one per day, all December through to Christmas Day.

Wild Feet socks are made using a cotton-rich blend of fibres and in a soft, smooth weave for all-seasons comfort.
It’s a sock enthusiast’s dream present.
They have both men’s and ladies’ versions, and in slightly smaller 12-pair choices too.

I love the idea of getting a brand new pair of socks on the run up to Christmas, I'm constantly in need of socks and often end up pinching Noah's so this will finally give me no need to go rummaging through his drawers when we're in a rush to run out the door.

I know all the boys are going to want to have a go at opening a door on this calendar that I'm not sure ill even get a go, they were pretty impressed when the postman delivered it.

SOCKSHOP have some amazing Black Friday deals which last all weekend, where you can buy this and their 12 days of Christmas Advent Calendars for half price, so why not go and bag a bargain before Christmas!

If you arent too interesting in trying to grab a bargain in the sale why not check out their awesome Christmas shop, where you could find some lovely stocking fillers!

Over on my insta stories in the run-up to Christmas, I will be sharing a new pair of socks daily!

...Would you buy yourself or someone you know a sock advent calendar?...

So your friend has told you that she is expecting, congratulations!

So with that in mind we have come up with a list of five completely original presents, that pregnant women actually want, to ensure your pressie is both practical and well thought out.

A Prenatal Massage

We’ve all been there.
The aches and pains and general discomfort that pregnancy can bring. So why not treat your friend to a soothing and relaxing prenatal massage
Have a look into the local spas and beauty salons that offer prenatal massages and see what packages and deals they have available.
This is a particularly great idea for anyone that is feeling a little overwhelmed and is going through the mill, physically.
If that sounds like your pal then this
could be the perfect pressie.

Moses Basket

Not only are moses baskets a completely gorgeous accessory to any baby room but they are also really practical for ferrying baby around the house.
If you would like to get your friend a little moses basket but are not quite sure where to look, check out a site like https://www.for-your-little-one.co.uk/furniture/moses-baskets
They are really charming to look at, are not as pricey as you may think and are a really unique gift for a pregnant friend, that they would probably never expect to receive, so it could be a winning idea.

Organic Beauty Kits

As pregnant women and mummies need to be extra careful with the products that they use and the products that they put on their skin, why not think about getting your friend a lovely little organic beauty kit.

Foot Massager

Again this one is all about mum.
Treating your friend to a lovely home, foot massager could be just what your friend needs to take the weight off and spend a little time indulging herself and relaxing before and after the little ones arrival.

Baby Record Book

Baby books are a super thoughtful present for mums to be as they tend to be the sort of items that pregnant women rarely think of buying for themselves.
Baby record books are such a charming gift idea as they will enable your friend to be able to record all her baby precious first moments.
From first steps, first smile, first tooth to fall out all the way to the first lock of hair to be cut. Baby record books are a fantastic way of capturing all the lovely adventures mums to be are about to experience as a parent and will be able to always look back on with this book.

Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

We all do it, well I know I do.... the last week before the big day and we realise we still need to buy a few extra gifts / stocking fillers.
We either haven't got enough or we've totally forgotten someone!

I've done it many many many times (I should really have learnt by now!) and I've had to rely on amazon to come to my rescue. I'm not brave enough to tackle the shops this late in the run up to Christmas.

Crayola Games are just the ticket for last minute gift ideas.
Fun for all the family and 100% better than socks or smellies!

Scribble Scramble
is suitable for ages 6 - 106
and you'll need 4 - 8 players!

Action packed Scribble Scramble is a frantic team game for 4-8 players where you have to guess it before it disappears!
Pick a Scribble card; start drawing on the board, then race against the moving Scribble Scramble unit to guess your team’s doodle before it disappears!
The quicker your team guesses the more points you get!

Noah loves drawing so he was super excited to give this game a try.

Noah and I won hands down against Jon, Alex and Oscar.
(The twins are too young to do the drawings, so Jon did most of them but they gave the guessing a good go)
Noah was fantastic at drawing and I could easily guess what he was doing, he on the other hand struggled with my awful pictures!
For someone who did art in college I really need to challenge my inner artist when playing this game!

We can't wait to play it on Christmas Day when my parents are over, having proper teams will be great fun!
We all get very competitive so we'll all be desperate to be the winners!

After Christmas dinner we always sit down and play board games, so this is going to fit in perfectly with our day!

You can buy Scribble Scramble over on amazon for £12.99 and receive it by tomorrow, if you have Prime!
Just in time for Christmas!

Emergency Christmas Gift Ideas To The Rescue!

Yup, we've all been there.
That sinking feeling when you realise that you meant to get a Christmas gift for someone but you have totally left it to the last minute. Then you have to rush around the shops looking for something that will suit them, and that is in your price range. Buy gift buying, even last minute gift shopping don't need to be so stressful. Just check out my categorised gift suggestions below.

Family
If you are looking for a gift to give to a member of your close family, consider something personalised. Christmas ornaments with pictures of the grandkids work well for parents and in-laws. Also, personalised 'bake your own' cookies are a nice idea, and they don't cost the earth either.

There are also framed word pictures that list all the things your family member likes in a decorative way. They are perfect for nieces and nephews that live at home or even one's that have a place of their own.

Friends
Last minute gifts for friends can be tricky.
You want something nice, but that won't break the bank. Depending on how well you know them you could get them something specific like beauty products from a brand that they love. Or, how about something decorative for their home?

However, if you aren't quite at that stage yet, a classic posh tin of biscuits will work. Or, how about or a board game that all the family can play? This makes a fab gift whatever the time of year.

Men
Ah men, can't live with them, can't live without them, certainly can't buy them a present easily! Why is  that men are so dang hard to buy for? Of course, there's the usual chocolates, socks, and aftershave, but as so many guys have beards now that one might be on its way out too!

If you want something that is a bit more quirky or unique, then check out sites like Cuckooland.com, which has lots of Christmas gift ideas for men.

Remember too that a good bet for the guy in your life is something practical that they will use. Unlike us, women guys don't seem to mind being bought gadgets for use around the house like a tablet or electric drill set. Although I bet, they wouldn't be too happy with an iron either!

Girls and Boys
Buying for the little ones can be a bit more fun that getting gifts for the adults. As you get to look at all the crazy toys on offer.

When buying toys, you need to make sure that they are suitable for the age range of the child they will be given to.

A lot of parents are concerned with the amount of gifts their child receives over the Christmas period these days. They feel it can all be a bit too much, and that it overwhelms the real meaning of the celebration.

To combat this, you can work with the rhyme: “Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.” Buying an item that fits one of those categories will make sure that your gift is both well received and useful.
