Sports Direct £5 Christmas Challenge

Being a mum of four I'm always trying to keep the cost down at Christmas, otherwise I would need to rob a bank come January so when BritMums challenged me to the #sdfiverchallenge I was more than up for it.

I don't usually shop in Sports Direct for anything other than the boys trainers and never have I used them online.
So I was pretty interested to see what they had on offer for under £5.

I was blown away with the range of Christmas gifts they had and how reasonable the prices were.
I was given a £30 voucher to spend and I had to get at least two gifts for under £5.
Well I managed to do better than that!
Most of my gifts featured were £5 and below!

All the presents featured are suitable to stocking fillers / tree presents*
*tree presents are little gifts that the whole family can play - mainly board games.

First up Ru-Bear.
I spotted these for Ru whilst browsing and knew he'd love them.
The Cars pop up game (£4.99) will be great for all four boys to play on Christmas Day and it is a take on one of my favourite games frustration.
Ru also loves drawing but does make an awful mess with pens so this Paw Patrol magnetic scribbler (£2.10) will be perfect for him.

Next on my list was Noah!
He is becoming tricky to please and is rather fussy about what he asks for now so I wasn't sure what id be buying to fill his stocking up with but whilst browsing the under £5 gift section I came across the following.
Star Wars glow in the dark stickers (£4.75) Noah loves Star Wars and like collecting cool stickers, so I thought these would be perfect for his expanding collection.
He's takes after his daddy and is a big West Ham fan so when I saw this little West Ham beanie (£4.50) I knew he would love it.
He may be 10 in a few weeks but he still loves a teddy!
And because he is growing up and likes to spend a long time dancing around in the shower this Batman bath set would be suitable for him.
Smellies at Christmas is pretty much a must have!

Last but not least I came across Monkey Tree and I remember playing this as a kid and thought it would be a great tree present, something we can all play whilst waiting for Christmas Lunch.
Family games are always a great way to get everyone cheering and laughing and focusing on each other than rather whats on the telly!

I spent just under £30 and that was with £4.99 standard shipping.
Standard shipping aims to get your delivery with you in 5-6 days.
My delivery took around 3 days to arrive.

I was really impressed with the quality of the gifts and the prices were just amazing.
Really great at helping keeping the cost of Christmas down.

The products seem to change quite a bit, as there is more items up than when I was looking and there really is something for everyone!
I can see myself topping up the boys stockings and grabbing a few bargains for others too.

Ru Bear Turned 3!!

Last Tuesday saw my littlest little turn 3.
It only seems like yesterday that I was pregnant with him.

We had cake and presents on the Sunday before his birthday, as on Tuesday's he's at nursery all day.
Nana & Gramps came round and I did a little party lunch of pizza, and some party food.

He loved blowing out his candles, but got a bit shy when we all sang to him.
He's not a massive cake fan, so he didn't actually have any of his big cake. Which meant me and the others were left to eat it all!

He got some lovely presents, and he's played with all of them.
He also has some money, which Im thinking of using to get him some new Little Bird By Jools Oliver tops!

Most of his presents were cars, and those of you who follow my Instagram you'll know he loves his cars.
He also got a Joules outfit from his favourite person .... Auntie Jenni, and a Gruffalo outfit from Nana & Gramps.

From us & my parents he got a balance bike.
He saw a little girl on one at school and pointed towards it, so I thought it would make a good birthday present.
We clubbed together as I didn't really know what else to say for them to buy him.

He loved it.
He's still getting the hang of it, and I think in no time he'll be whizzing all over the place.

Nana bought him a helmet for the bike and that arrived on Tuesday.
We all joked that he would probably wear that more than being on the bike and so far its true.
He loves running round the house with it on.

Ru loves getting new clothes, so as soon as he opened his present from Jenni, he wanted it on.

On Tuesday I bought some mini cupcakes for pudding, wishfully thinking Ru might actually like it but when giving him a cake this was his response........

Far from impressed lol!

Christmas 2016

Our first Christmas in the new house was pretty awesome!!

My parents came up on Christmas Eve and we spent the day chilling out, my mum baked some cinnamon buns, I did some last minute wrapping and we took the boys to a Chris-tingle service at the local church .... a church that back in the day the one and only Pocahontas used to worship with her husband John Rolfe.

It was a fun service where everyone was encouraged to take part.
The twins spent most of the service giggling away!

The boys all went to bed at normal time, even my little non sleeper was asleep by 9.30!

Rupert woke at 5, but I was able to keep him In bed by laying on the floor next to his bed, the twins and Noah woke around 7.
We waiting until 8 for my parents to turn up before we went into the lounge to see what Father Christmas had left!

All the boys were truly spoilt and they love each and everyone of their presents.
Unlike last year where we kind of over did it and they got overwhelmed and didn't know what to play with.

The day was a full on Nerf war between everyone.
I'm still finding stray bullets everywhere from the fights.
Jon's parents and sister popped over for a little while which was nice.
In our other house that would never have worked but this house is perfect for big family gatherings.

Jon and my mum cooked the dinner and it was AMAZING!
They did themselves proud!

Boxing Day we had a lovely breakfast with bubble and squeak and then my parents headed back to Surrey.
In the afternoon we had Jon's parents over and then a nice relaxing evening.

How was your Christmas?

Christmas Gift Ideas // My First Scalextric

The big day is just mere weeks away.

Some very organised people may have completely finished their Christmas gift buying by now, but if like me you've hardly made a start you may be searching the web some cool ideas.

I thought I would share some of the toys that the boys have been playing with lately!

You can find this in most toy shops, at the moment it is selling for £23.99 over on amazon.
I would say that was a reasonable price for what it is.
I know scalextics can be pretty pricey, last year we bought Noah a massive one and he loved it.

The box contains all the track, two controllers, a red and yellow car, plus spare parts just in case the cars need to get a bit of an MOT.

This set is designed to be the ideal starting point for younger drivers 3+
Its a perfect introduction to the world of scalextric. Featuring an easy to assemble figure of 8 track.
You have two colour coded adjustable power level controllers which help control the speed of your race.

Track length 256cm requiring 108cm x 61cm space

The twins really enjoy racing against each other and the giggles they share when the other shoots off track is very funny to watch.
My First Scalextrics will provide endless amounts of fun for the kids and adults alike!
Christmas day could turn into a family race off!!!
