... Ru's Private Screening Party Of The Brand New PJ Masks Series 2 ...

The action-packed adventures of Catboy, Owlette and Gekko, the superhero trio from Entertainment One’s (eOne) hit animated TV series, PJ Masks, are set to continue as brand new episodes from series two premiere on Disney Junior from Wednesday 28th March

To celebrate the brand new series we were sent a preview party bundle to help the boys enjoy a private home viewing of the very first two episodes!

Ru was amazed at all the amazing PJ Masks goodies he was sent for the preview party and I'm certain ive never seen his smile so wide as when he saw his CatBoy duvet set on his bed!

Before the party, we sat down and wrote out some invites for the twins, so they knew when and where the party was going to be held and then I set them all out of the kitchen, so I could set up the party table and get the preview episodes up on the laptop.

I did a small selection of party food and some juice for them all to enjoy whilst watching the first two episodes ...

o Moonfizzle Balls-Catboy works a bit too fast to kick back Luna Girl’s moonfizzle balls,

and Gekko and Owlette can’t keep up.

o Soccer Ninjalinos-Owlette learns that being part of the team means coaching Catboy

and Gekko to defeat Night Ninja, who has trained his Ninjalinos in kung-Fu football.

The boys all danced along to the theme tune and then settled right down to enjoy the episodes, I'm not sure I've ever seen them so quiet whilst all sitting together.
They all really enjoyed both episodes and Ru demanded we watch them again and by this point, I thought the twins would get up and go and do something different, but they happily watched them both again!

After watching the episodes twice they decided they'd do a bit of art using the PJ Mask art box and Oscar wanted to do the puzzle.
Both those activities lasted a good half hour and once they were done with that, they all put on a mask and ran around the house playing PJ Masks!

Getting Back Into Exercise ...

For the past month or so I have been upping my exercise, as pretty much before now the only exercise I would take part in was the school run!

I have been attending a local Barre Class with Jon's sister Jenni and I absolutely love it!
I'm already noticing changes in my body and I'm feeling much better within myself.

"Most barre-based classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements." Also, don't be surprised if your class incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work."

I usually only do one lesson a week but last week we did two and I felt even better for doing it, so I'm thinking I may start doing the Wednesday and Friday class

I've also got a bit of the exercising bug and I've started doing some Yoga at home using a free Yoga app that I downloaded from the App Store.

I did my first workout last night and I've never ached so much in my life!
It's a good ache and I'm looking forward to tonights workout.

I used to love my gym sessions before the boys were born and you'd often find me there working up a sweat on the cross trainer and it feels good to be actually getting back my fitness.

I'm no longer feeling like a couch potato, I feel like I have a bit more get up and go.

I've actually developed a slight legging obsession and find myself scrolling through sport Instagram photos looking at all the different ones I could get!

I don't want to be the mum who people say 'yeah you can tell she's had four kids', I want to be the mum where people think 'omg she's had four kids!!!?!?!'

I know I shouldn't really give two shoots what people think, but we all care and theirs no point in denying that.

I'm hoping by summer I can feel more confident in my own skin and be happy to go swimming with the boys without wanting to hide my body away.

#VicksTricks

As parents we all have some magic tricks up our sleeves when our babies get sick!
Be it reading them their favourite bedtime Story or cuddling up on the sofa having a nap.

When it comes to my boys, I have a few ways that I know for sure will have them feeling 100% better in a matter of days.

Here are my top 5 magic tricks to getting the boys back to their normal crazy selves!

  1. Vicks VapoRub is my go to magic tool, as soon as I notice they are getting a cough or cold I will start rubbing this on their chests.

I've even tried rubbing it on the soles of their feet at night and popping socks on whilst they sleep, as apparently its meant to draw out the cold.
(I'm not sure it really worked, but they found it very funny and now always ask me to do this when they become unwell.)

2. Dvd and snuggle blanket days, nothing beats cuddling up on the sofa and watching your favourite films, I know I love to do this when i'm not feeling 100% and the boys do too.

3. Stories, we love books and always make sure we read a book or two before bed, but when the boys are unwell and not wanting to watch TV, we will cuddle up in my bed and read all our favourite books until they fall asleep.

4. Warm soothing baths with drops of lavender oil to help calm them, whilst they're in the bath we will make up our own stories and maybe use some of the bath toys to act out the story.

5. Lots and lots of love, kisses and cuddles.

What are your Magic tricks when it comes to making your children feel better!??!

Vicks First Defence nasal spray is mum and dads own trick to stop a cold from taking hold!
Fight against the first signs of a cold or flu.
Welcome to the last place a cold or flu wants you to be. As soon as you feel one coming, send it packing! Vicks First Defence can reduce the chance of developing a full-blown cold.
Chances are your cold won’t take hold.

Vicks believe that traditional love, fun and laughter are key to comfort your children when they aren't feeling themselves. That's why Vicks have developed a series of sharable #VicksTricks magic videos that are simple, easy and great fun to replicate.

You can find them over on YouTube, just type in #VicksTricks in the search bar.

The Sliced Banana #VicksTricks Magic trick, is my favourite,
one I'm definitely going to have to try out on the boys!

Some of the Vicks consumer research;
  • Over half (52%) of parents said that rest was the most important thing for making children feel better.
  • This was followed by 'medicine', which 40% of parents rely on.
  • More than a third of parents (36%) believe in the power of TLC.
And when it comes to keeping children entertained:
  • Three out of four (75%) British parents put on the TV or a DVD
  • Over a quarter (27%) read to their children
  • 1 in 10 parents get really creative; either telling jokes (8%) or even do magic tricks (2%).

Family Psychologist Corinne Sweet highlights that "One of the most powerful antidotes to sickness developing further; is parental care and concern.'
