Snow Fun

I thought I'd share some photos from the snow.
We haven't really been up to much lately, so I don't have much to report.
I have completed my first TMA and I'm about to send it off to be marked and the boys all had their first ever snow day!

No School!!!
I'm really enjoying having this as my view!
Every time I come into the kitchen this is what I'm greeted with and it fills with me joy, I'll be sad once it all melts away.
I'd love to live somewhere where it was constantly snowy.

Have you been having fun in the snow?

... Beach Trips, Eye Tests and Rainbow Roses ...

Half term and another week off for the boys.
We hadn't planned much for this week, seeing as we've only just come back off a holiday.

To kick start the half term we decided to head down to the beach and stretch our legs.

It was lovely as it was practically deserted and we had a nice stretch of beach all to ourselves.

The boys all had a good run around and we had fun writing our names in the sand.

The beach is definitely our happy place.

On Tuesday Jenny came to stay and the boys all had eye test.
For Noah it was his second one and for the rest it was their first.

Noah and Oscar had perfect results.

Alex had to been booked in for another appointment as his results were a bit iffy, so he had to go back today and have some eye drops to enlarge his pupils so they could have a better look.
Everything was fine and he doesn't need glasses which has upset him as he really wanted them!

Ru has to go to the eye hospital as he's developed a lazy eye.

Whilst we were busy in supersavers Jon did a bit of shopping and found this gorgeous rainbow rose!
It was a nice early Valentines present.

Afterwards we dropped the boys back off home and Jenny, Noah and I headed off to Kings Lynn and did a bit of shopping.
The twins needed a bit of a wardrobe update and I wanted a few new things for work.

Whilst in Kings Lynn we stopped in Costa for a coffee, and I plonked Noah in the seats by the window and went off to queue.
Only to return to Noah in tears.
He'd spotted a homeless man and it made him really upset, so we bought the man a hot coffee and a bacon roll.
Noah was so upset by the thought of this guy having no home that he cried on and off for the rest of the day.

Jenny and I both talked him through that not everyone is as lucky as he is and when you see people worse off, its better to show kindness than none at all.
So Noah buying the guy some food and a coffee rather than turning a blind eye was an amazing act of kindness and that he should be really proud of himself.
The man was very lovely and thanked Noah which made Noah feel better.

The boys all got treats on Valentine's Day.
Before Jenny headed back home on Wednesday we had another shopping trip.
We headed off to the Range and B&M.
I got a few things for the house, a new gold geometric fruit bowl and a frame for a Totoro print Jon bought me months ago.

I started a new book this week, I was going to buy one but decided I would try reading this again, as it's been sat on my book shelf since I bought it.

My Dummy TMA ( tutor marked assessment) was due in this week and I got it in at the weekend, it was sent back to me on Thursday and I had achieved 100/100.
I wasn't sure how it would be marked as some other students who are doing the same course as me all had theirs graded 0, 1 or out of 100.

It's really given me a boost and I can't wait to get stuck into my first proper TMA which is due in on the 8th March.
I'm nearly finished with unit 3 so I'll start writing the TMA once the boys are all back at school.

I feel as though this week has been sponsored by Costa's Coconut vanilla latte!
I've had well over 5 both in store and take aways.
Not sure how ill cope next week without my unlimited trips out!

After we had unboxed all of them I told them if we placed them in their baths we would find out wether they were a boy or girl.

Colour changing toys are a massive thing in this house and any chance Ru has to play with water he's all over it.

I filled up the baths and let him dip the babies in.
It was great fun seeing what colour their diapers went.

He has played with them non stop since opening them up, its very sweet to hear him making them talk to each other and him bathing them nicely and surprisingly not making too much of a mess!
They haven't received any names yet, but when Ru has finally decided I have their birth certificates ready to fill in.

... Num Noms Pancake Day Fun! ...

We looooooove Pancake day in the Mini Beast house and were more than happy to team up with one of our favourites - Num Noms to have some NumNomtastic pancake day fun!

We were very Kindly sent some Pancake Day supplies along with Num Noms series 4 Deluxe Pack and Num Noms Mystery Pots

Ru adores his Num Noms collection and is always excited when he gets the chance to add to it.
He does like the starter packs, but his favourites are the blind bags.
The light ups and nail varnish Noms are his favourite!

Noah and I set about getting the pancakes cooked, I've never used a pre mixed pancake batter before and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how nice they were.
Noah showed off by flipping every pancake before placing it onto the wood block.

Once the pancakes were all made we placed them on the table with an array of toppings.
Then the competition was on ... who could made the nicest topping.

Alex opted for Lemon Juice, Chocolate spread and marshmallows.... I wasn't too keen on this one but he loved it!
Oscar went for just chocolate spread and you really can't go wrong with Nutella on a pancake!
Noah takes after my dad and went for lemon juice and sugar.
Ru went for chocolate spread and mini marshmallows!
Everyone agreed that Ru made the best combination of flavours and on their next pancakes they all did the same.

Ru's collection of Num Noms has tripled and he has even more nail varnishes to add to his collection.
The Nail varnish ring holder is pretty amazing and wished it came in a size to fit my own fingers!

What is your favourite pancake topping to have on Pancake Day?

... Good Days ...

The last week has been a good one.
Back from Centre Parcs I was ready to carry on at school and properly get into my studying.
I cut down my hours so now instead of 3 full days I just do half days, so I can spend the rest of the day studying without the boys around.
I'm already ahead.

The boys have gotten the bug for outdoor play again since being on holiday in the woods and every chance they get, they like to be in the garden....even Ru who usually doesn't go out unless its warm.

The twins have been learning about Space this half term and have been really enjoying it and really keen to do extra work at home.
Last weekend they drew a poster of our solar system and then researched how many moons the different planets had.

I changed the top of the hallway table out and replaced an old lamp with some fresh flowers.
It gives the hallway a fresh look and you really cannot go wrong with rainbow coloured tulips!

I've finished two units already and submitted a dummy TMA.
After having my first tutorial I'm really excited to crack on and I can't wait until October when I start my proper degree.
I am really enjoying studying again and writing down notes and reading things that I wouldn't usually read.
The fact that it means I can buy more stationery with out being moan at is awesome!

This week has seen the twins and Ru join a martial arts club and get their first ever badge!
The twins also joined a local football club too.
Their little social life is really starting to bloom!

After finishing my last book I've been on the hunt to replace it and came across Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
I only started it the other day and I'm already zooming my way through it.
It's so strange at the moment that I just can't put it down and I'm desperate to know more about Eleanor.

Ru has been noticing the Sonny Angels that are on his shelf and has started playing with a few of them, and even though I really wish they were in my room and he wasn't playing with them I decided to treat him too two new ones.

They were half price so it really was a bargain.
I adore these cute little babies and Ru does actually play really nicely with them and alway makes sure they go back up on their shelf once he's done.
He's also rather protective of them and will not let anyone else touch them.

The days that Ru was only at nursery for half a day I made sure to put my books away and do something fun with him.

We played his happy land train play set on the Tuesday and on Thursday we made Rice Krispy cakes and made him a robot costume out of cardboard boxes!

He enjoyed making the cakes with me but enjoyed licking the bowl more.
We also got him some medication to help him go to the toilet.
As he's currently started to withhold his poo and can go a week and sometimes a bit more.
He will stain his pants a little but won't actually do a proper movement, so it was getting a bit much
and I could see the distress he was starting to get in.

The doctor was fantastic and talked me through everything over the phone and then sent the prescription of to boots for me to collect in the morning.
If it doesn't help we will then have to get Ru to see the doctor in person.

I also treated myself to some pamper time and got a gel manicure.
It wasn't until afterwards that we both noticed the colour I had chose matched my cardigan.

What have you been up to this week?
