Lush Brun Henna • Review •

So as you are probably aware if you've read a previous post or follow me on Instagram, ever since buggering up my hair I've been on the look out for something to help get it back on the right track, but everytime it starts to feel semi ok I dye it to get it back to a brown if drys it right back up again!

So I've decided to give Henna ago!

It's not for the faint hearted.
It is messy
It takes a lot longer than a bog standard box dye!
There's more prep than your normal box dye.

You have to melt the Henna a bain-marie
Until it resembles a melted chocolate consistency.

I'm not sure I melted mine enough as it was harder to spread on to my hair that I thought it would be.

I've read some reviews about it shelling awful but I have to say I had no issues with it and preferred it over a normal box dye!

Taking 4 hours isn't ideal, specially being a mum, But hey ho all in the name of beauty!
Normally I would try and buy the dye that takes the least time and whack it on whilst the boys are in bed.
I know that the ones that take next to no time are full if crap and are no good for my hair, and leave it feeling like straw.
I feel a much better knowing that as well as staining my hair hopefully a brown colour it is also treating it to some goodness!
I'll be rather smug if the henna actually takes to my hair!

If you're not going anywhere it's not too bad, as once it's on you can just go about doing your usual thing.
Just rocking the cling film and towel look!

Here is my before shot -

Afterwards :

So it's changed the colour to a lovely dark brown with some red tinges - actually really like it.
But....
My hair doesn't feel any better, possibly worse, :(
Someone just said they do there's the following day and then it feels better. So maybe I'll give that ago.
I'll defiantly stick to henna and will be doing it again.

Here are my after shots -

Do you use Henna? Do you have any tips for me?

** this post was not endorsed by lush, I bought the product myself and wanted to share with you guys!"

Aliens Love Dinopants • Book Review •

Aliens Love Dinopants is the new instalment in the Underpants series.

Written by Claire Freedman - who is the highly successful author of several picture books including Aliens Love Underpants and Oliver and Patch.

Illustrated by Ben Cort - whose picture books have been published in 18 languages in 20 countries worldwide.

Aliens Love Dinopants is the 8th collaboration from bestselling and award winning duo.

Their books together (Aliens Love Underpants, Dinosaurs Love Underpants, Aliens in Underpants save the World, Aliens Love Panta Claus, Monsteraururs, Pirates Love Underpants, Monsters Love Underpants) have sold over 3 million copies and are published in 21 languages.

The pant loving Aliens crash land in the jungle and their pant detector goes crazy!
Surely there can't be pants in the jungle?!?

Not just pants, but BIG pants belonging too ......

Dinosaurs!!!
Dinos were the last thing they expected to find.... Not just any old dinosaurs, but pant loving dinosaurs!
Dinosaurs who would put up a good fight to protect their beloved big panties!!!

The twins absolutely loved this book!
They always have a good giggle when seeing the little aliens in their pants and with the added bonus of Dinos in this story it was sure to be a big hit with them.

They loved the bright fun illustration, and after we finished reading they went back and looked at the pictures, picking out their favourite alien and dino.

I think this may be my new favourite story out of all the Aliens Love Pants series.
After reading it to the twins, Noah wanted to have a read and he gave it two thumbs up!!!

I can see this becoming the new favoured bedtime book.

You can buy it for yourself from

Excuse me whilst ........

I squat here and poo!

For some reason I'm extremely proud of this photo.....yes I'm aware that is really weird!

Why?
Because obviously I've spent far too much time around little boy folk that I now find poo's, farts and bottoms funny!

I love how he cleared a space ready for him to do his business, stared out the window then got up and carried on with life!

The Wildlings new room layout.

Up until now the boys have been sharing a bed.
Not because we only bought one but because they like being close.
It never really caused much of a problem, but now they are getting bigger they are taking up more space...
Obviously that's what happens when you grow.
So they have been waking up in the middle of the night crying because the other one had hit them.

I did ask if they wanted to sleep separately, they declined that offer and would much rather sleep together and have their nightly sleep fights.

So I rattled my brain and decided to move their room around. Turning their bunks back into normal beds and putting them side by side.

Yes it takes up a lot of room, but they are lucky enough to have a big room so there is still plenty of room still to play in.

As soon as they saw it they were in love with it! They are happy to sleep and we haven't been woken up to the screams of 'Stop hitting meeeeeee'!

I'm having a bit of a turning 30 crisis!

Warning :: this is going to be a bit of a rambling / woeful post.

I'm having a bit of an identity crisis.
I no longer feel like me, I've lost sight of my likes and dislikes and its suddenly  hit me that I'm no longer 18!

I went from a gothy teenager who thought the world was against them to a weekend raver dabbling in the rave scene and drinking myself silly.
Blanking out most weekends.

To then becoming pregnant a few months after my 21st!

Obviously becoming a mother changed me for the better, but I feel like I didn't really get the chance to discover my true self before being thrown into the deep end of life.

For the last 7years I've been busy making sure my babies are getting everything they need and making sure they are reaching all their milestones and eating all the right things and I've let myself drift to the back of my mind and not worried too much about myself.

Fast forward to now ..... three months before I hit 30 and I'm feeling rather blah!

I know we should all look on the positive side of life and just get on with it, but sometimes you do just want to sit there and have a little one person self pity party

To make this post less jibberish I'm going to break it down into sections of things that I dislike about myself and why....

So I shall start with >

Hair :: I recently completely utterly destroyed my once lovely hair!
I tried to go pastel purple from black!
Yes I am that silly!
It worked but the bleach destroyed my hair and made it feel like chewing gum.
I kept my hair purple for about 2 days then decided actually it wasn't for me and I suit darker hair - which of course I already knew as this isn't the first time I've buggered my hair up - the last time resulted me in having to chop off my lovely long locks into a short bob. Which isn't really my cup of tea, I love having long hair and feel it suits me more.
I no and trying to resist going back to black by having a chocolate brown colour but the bleach keeps making it fade.
So as it stands I'm trying out lots of different oils and masks which are semi working but it's still a work in progress to get it back to semi decent hair.

Make up :: I've been doing my make up the same way for years, though the last few years I haven't bothered so much, just foundation, blusher, eyeliner and mascara. I feel the need to actually have some make up lessons and try different techniques.
I only own one make up brush and I've had for God knows how long.
I know this is a big syn in the world of make up.
Any recommendations for good brushes will be welcome!!

Mum Tum / c-section over hang :: After 4 kids I'm not in bad shape and I only hit the scales at 10 stone, which I'm not too bothered by before 10 stone would had made me freak and stop eating, I'm past that stage of my life and I'm quite happy with my weight.

It's my stomach!!!
To put it one way it annoys the hell out of me!
It just hangs there like bread dough waiting for a good kneading!

I really need to tone it up but it just seems impossible.

Clothes style  :: At the moment I feel i have no style and I'm feeling a bit stuck in a rut, wearing the same thing day in day out. Then when I feel I've made a little effort I see a picture and think oh for f*ck sake a potato sack would have looked better!
I need a whole wardrobe over haul.

Really what I need if for Gok Wan to come fondle my boobs and tell me what I should be wearing!

Diet :: Well to put it bluntly my diet is just shite, but I'm working on this and you'll see that in a post coming in the next few days.

Skin :: Is just dull dull dull. I know improving my diet will help, but also any recommendations for a good face regime to get the glow back will be welcome!

Those are my main issues and I'm gonna try and sort it out, how?!? I dunno but nothing is impossible if you really want it!!!

I probably am just having a bit of a flip out about turning 30, but if it's time for a change then there is no better time than when entering a whole new chapter in your life!

Like I've said a few times above, any recommendations will be very much welcome, either leave a comment below or get in touch via my email :: hannahshaw1985@hotmail.co.uk

Pebli Town launch with Amanda Holden.

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Launch of a new interactive toy - Pebli Town at Westfield London's Vue Scene bar with none other than Amanda Holden.

Pebli Town is designed for children aged 3+, Pebli Town features four exciting interactive game modes; Story Teller, Games, Story Creator and Video Room, and is designed to help develop children’s problem solving skills, hand eye coordination, creativity, imagination, vocabulary and much more

Amanda, a mother of two children herself, attended The Entertainer store in Westfield on Wednesday 30th to officially launch Pebli Town, a revolutionary new pre-school toy featuring a physical play board that directly interacts with a tablet to bring the toy to life.

“It’s a toy that my children and I are delighted to be associated with. Pebli Town is really unique as it combines traditional play with technology. The toy has some adorable characters like Fireman Freddie, Doctor Daisy, Chef Charlie and Painter Poppy and four exciting interactive game modes which accommodate for all key developmental and educational needs a parent would want for their child.”

At the launch we were told all about Pebli Town and its benefits. We were then shown how it works and each had a chance to have a play.
Straight away I knew all my boys would love it. I even got quiet into it myself.
I can see us having lots of fun with Pebli Town.

We have been gifted our very own Pebli Town which I'll be reviewing with the boys in a later post, so keep your eyes peeled to see how we got on with it!!

If you're starting your Christmas shopping and looking for toys for 3 - 7 year olds this is defiantly something you should pick up!

A wildling update

The twins have grown up so much in the last few weeks.
I can't believe they will be starting school next September.

After I thought I was done with potty training them they completely went backwards.
So we decided to wait and try again at a later date.

Two weeks ago we tried and it was a complete success. They aren't dry at night yet but we can tackle that at a later date.

Having them at nursery helps as they see all the other children using the toilets so they want to join in.
We have had a few accidents but not as many as we thought we were going to have!

I went out and pretty much bought all the pants and joggers in peacocks thinking they would probably need even more!
I packed them into their nursery bags, thinking id be getting phone calls asking for me to bring more clothes in.
As usual I way over thought it and they have been returning in the same clothes I've sent them in.

Go twinnies!!

Another big thing that has happened......is that they gave their dummies to the dummy fairy!!!
I thought it would be hard as they seemed so attached to them but only the first night was tricky, and I ended up sleeping at the end of their bed!

Finding TMNT pants in the letter box the following morning made everything better!

The twins wrapping up their dummies for the fairy!

They have been dummy free for one whole week!!!

Today when they are at nursery I'll be changing their room around, as currently they sleep in one bed, but they keep kicking / slapping each other in their sleep so of course they have a distrupted  sleep.

I'm planning to move their beds together to make something like a toddler double bed.
That way they can still be together but have the space they need.

I will post pictures on my Instagram once I'm finished.

They are really loving nursery and have made lots of friends. Everyday they come home with some art work or another.
I've started taping onto their bedroom walls, so we can all marvel at their scribbles!
All the staff love them and say they have settled in really well!
