Why San Diego Is One Of The Best Family Spots In The US

When you’re a parent, your priorities when looking for a holiday make a huge change.
If you’ve always wanted to go to the US, then there are some spots that might get crossed off your list because they’re not kid-friendly locations
But if you’re still dying to get over, there might be one city that has it all for you: San Diego. So, why do you want to go there and what will you do there?

Getting there
The US takes its travel very seriously. Tourism is a big part of their economy, but being caught without the right travel documentation can land you in a lot of hot water.
When you visit, make sure you look at the advice from official-esta.com to ensure that everyone in your family is authorized to be there.
Then carry your travel documentation with you at all times when out and about. The application process for an ESTA can be done online and only takes a few days to process, so it’s not a huge hurdle.
The perfect climate
One of the reasons that so many visit San Diego is that it seems to hit a sweet spot that very few other areas in the US do.
From Spring to Autumn, the average temperatures tend to stay in the golden range of 19-20 degrees Celsius.
So, when you’re deciding what to pack, most of the time you need to make sure that you have swimsuits, sunscreen, and light clothes.
If you prefer things a little milder, the weather cools down a great deal in May. But the locals don’t like that too much so it might not be your opportunity to see the city at its most active.

Lots to do
Kids don’t tend to want to see the same things as adults on a vacation.
The best thing about seeing San Diego as a family is the range of all-inclusive spots to stop at as shown by parents.com
Balboa Park is a zoo with a legendary reputation with pandas, koalas, and lots of lovely additions like lily ponds and palm trees.
It’s not too far from Legoland in Carlsbad, either. You might even get them to learn something. The Children’s Museum has a lot of interactive displays to keep their interest while most kids will definitely want to get on the ships of the Maritime Museum.
Have an adventure
If your family is a bit on the wild side, then the sheer natural beauty surrounding the city might be where you want to spend all your time.
There’s a wide range of camping spots to choose from, too.
The Santee Lakes can be perfect for those who want someone to fish, swim, and relax on a boat.
If you’re a family of beach-lovers, then Campland on the Bay offers a great view of the ocean, a short trip to the downtown area and even the occasional firework display.

The weather of San Diego is hard to beat, the natural beauty is astounding and there’s always something to do that will ensure no-one in the family is bored.
Doesn’t that sound like the perfect family vacation spot to you?
