Review // Sands Alive Cake Shop

Recently I decided I would try and do more sensory play with Rupert, in a bid to get him to experience new things and my end goal of getting him to actually eat.

We have played with play foam, play doh, water beads, and his favourite so far....magic sand!
So when we were sent Sands Alive Cake Shop kit from John Adams I knew he would love to make up some cakes.

What comes in the kit;
1 play tray,
1 pack of normal coloured sand.
1 pack of pink sand,
2 rolling pins,
3 cake moulds.

Ru and I both love the strange feel to Sands Alive, Ru is a big pink fan, so he instantly was drawn to the bright pink sand and was keen to make some cakes.
He first had to squash it all down so it completely covered the play tray, once it was fully covered could he begin playing.

We tried out the cupcake mould first and we were both pretty impressed at how cool it came out.
Every cake I made, he destroyed!
He then re did it himself and looked very pleased with himself.

He loved the fact that the rolling pins left imprints on the sand and would roll it all out and then point to all the different fruit he could see.

For a fun filled sensory play session Sands Alive was perfect and it kept him busy for at least half an hour!

The Sands Alive sand is great as it never drys out and even when mixed in together it still looks pretty.
Perfect for getting out time and time again.
Knowing that the money you spent isn't going to be wasted and end up in the bin after only a couple of times of being played with.

It's Ru's birthday coming up next month and I know I'll be suggesting Sands Alive kits as present ideas.

You can find Sands Alive Cake Shop from Argos for £19.99
