LEGO City // Jungle Halftrack Mission Review

National Geographic Kids and LEGO® City have collaborated on a special partnership to inspire children to explore, discover and learn about jungles and the importance of their preservation. 

Known for his Science outreach work and exploration of the "Boiling River” in the Amazon, National Geographic Explorer, Andres Ruzo, is spearheading the project, and is passionate about sharing the importance of these habitats with future ‘young explorers’. 

Through LEGO City Jungle bricks, vehicles, and mini-figures Ruzo has created a fun way to highlight what incredible habitats jungles are, helping children learn more about their diversity, incredible plant and animal species, as well the importance of conservation for the future.

To go along side that blog post, LEGO sent me the new Lego City Jungle Halftrack Mission to review.

Noah loves his wildlife and often enjoys watching programmes like Deadly 60, Planet Earth etc, so when I told him all about LEGO's venture he was eager to get his hands on one of the new sets.

The Jungle Halftrack Mission comes with 4 bags and 3 instruction books!

The set includes a male and female explorer mini figures, 

panther and spider figures, 

a camera, 

machete, 

walkie-talkie, 

pan 

and a build-able campfire, 

an AVT with removable crate and the halftrack with chain.

Total piece count - 378 pieces,

Recommended age 6+.

Noah found it really easy following the instructions and whizzed his way through the first book within 10 minutes.

He loved that he now has a LEGO panther, which is one of his favourite animals!

Book two was the Halftrack, he needed a little help with this and I was more than happy to lend a hand.

I love building LEGO, I find it quite therapeutic in a way.

It was also nice spending some one on one time with Noah, as that doesn't seem to happen as much as it should.

Book Three was the Temple.
Noah loved building this as he loved making the booby trap and laughed even more as he said it....
Much to my annoyance he didn't let me help with this bit.

This LEGO set was great fun to build, and we had even more fun setting the scenes for the photos in the garden and having fun playing with the mini figures.

It was great to see Noah's imagination come alive.
